I recently built a PC for my son, featuring a Ryzen 5600gt processor, 16GB of DDR4 Kingston Fury RAM, a Gigabyte B550M K motherboard, and an EVGA 600W PSU. I installed a Team Group 500GB SSD, but when I went to set up Windows 11, it showed about 953GB of available space. I haven't built a PC in a while, so I'm wondering if this is a common occurrence or if I just lucked out with the SSD size. What do you think? Am I just lucky or is there something I'm missing?

Definitely sounds like a lucky break! It's rare, but it happens. If it says 500GB on the SSD sticker, it's possible there’s a mix-up. If you bought it from a big online store, it might just be a shipping error.
That’s interesting! Just to be sure, make sure the SSD actually has that capacity. It could be reporting more than it can actually hold due to a glitch or a faulty sticker. I'd recommend checking with some capacity testing software just to be safe.
It sounds like you might have gotten a bonus SSD! Sometimes manufacturers mess up and send the wrong product. Enjoy the extra space while it lasts!
That’s a sweet deal, especially since you got it from a local supplier! It’s always good to double-check, but sometimes these things really are just happy accidents.
I say enjoy it and don’t look a gift horse in the mouth! You got a great start to your son's PC build!
