Hi everyone,
I recently encountered a frustrating situation after purchasing a second-hand iPad Pro with 1TB of storage and cellular capabilities on eBay. It worked perfectly for just two days before my Apple account was unexpectedly locked. During that short time, my girlfriend managed to download a few apps and play a game, but now we can't access the device. After submitting a request to unlock the account, it was denied, and we're unable to submit further requests. We also tried to have the activation lock removed, but that was denied because we don't have an original receipt from Apple, and eBay receipts aren't accepted.
I reached out to Apple support, and after discussing the issue with a senior technician, I was told that there are no more troubleshooting options available. Simply put, we were told that we're out a large sum of money with no solution offered. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and found success. Is there any real person we can contact for further assistance, or any specific steps we can take to resolve this issue? We're really in need of help since the iPad is currently locked and we can't even return it to eBay. Thank you for any advice you can provide!

You could also consider filing an INAD claim through eBay. Just to clarify, was there any issue like a bad serial number, or did you make a purchase of an app that led to a chargeback?
I'd suggest making a claim through eBay if you haven't already. They might have policies in place for situations like yours, and it could lead to a resolution.
You might want to raise a complaint directly with eBay about this. They could potentially help you out where Apple isn’t being cooperative. It’s worth a try!

I thought an older device would work like most other tech out there. I didn't realize Apple had such strict policies on second-hand products. It’s quite disheartening for a first-time buyer.
