Did I make a mistake spending $370 on RAM while waiting for my PC build?

I recently purchased a kit of Trident Z5 Royal Neo 2x16GB RAM for $370, and I won't have my PC built until March because I'm saving up for the rest of the components. I'm worried I might have made a mistake with this purchase due to the skyrocketing prices. Should I keep it or try to return it?

I think you need to reconsider that purchase. RAM prices can fluctuate, and waiting might give you a chance to find something better or cheaper. You have until March to monitor the market—there's no rush to keep it now. Cancel the order if you can and see how things go.

I get the fear of rising prices, but if you can return it without any issues, I recommend doing that. RAM isn't as critical to have on hand if you won't be building your PC immediately. Plus, there might be some great deals around the holiday season.

Don't stress too much! If you have an extended return policy, hold onto it for now and see how prices change by the time you're ready to build. If things don't seem to improve, then you can always return it and get a better deal later.

Look, I understand the FOMO, but paying $370 for RAM that you'll need to sit on for a while is risky. I'd suggest checking out local deals or online options closer to your build date. You might regret this purchase if prices drop significantly.

Honestly, you're probably better off returning it. There are good 2x16GB kits out there for under $230 right now. Spending $370 just to let it sit for months isn't a smart move. You might find a better deal later.
