Is Upgrading from an 11th-Gen i5 Worth It for 1440p Gaming?

Hey everyone! I'm considering whether I should upgrade either my CPU or GPU for gaming at 1440p. Right now, I'm using an Intel i5-11400F with an RTX 3060 Ti. I've heard that 1440p gaming is often more dependent on the GPU, but I wonder if my 11th-gen i5 might become a bottleneck in CPU-heavy titles. So, my questions are:
1. Is it worth upgrading the CPU for 1440p gaming with my current GPU?
2. If I should upgrade, which CPU would be sensible?
3. If not, should I focus on upgrading my GPU first?

I use an i5-11400 in my setup with a 3080 and previously a 3060 Ti, and it performs decently at high resolutions, usually around 60-80 FPS. Some games are demanding, but I haven't felt the need to upgrade yet. It should be fine for now if you're not seeing significant issues.

Can you share the specific models of your CPU, GPU, and other components? It would help in suggesting the best upgrade paths for you.

Definitely check your GPU usage first—if it's consistently below 90%, your CPU might be bottlenecking. But typically at 1440p, the GPU is the more critical component for performance, so I’d recommend prioritizing the GPU upgrade. If you decide to upgrade your CPU later, something like a Ryzen 7600x or 7700x would be solid options for gaming, but it's not urgent unless you're seeing major performance issues.

I've noticed my GPU rarely hits 100% and my CPU is usually maxed out.

Before making a decision, check your GPU usage while gaming. If your GPU isn’t maxing out, it's likely not worth upgrading the CPU, especially since you'd need a new motherboard and RAM as well. Usually, with that setup, your GPU should handle 1440p quite well without bottlenecks.

I've noticed my GPU often stays around 87-91% utilization even with newer games.
