I'm currently using the ReMarkable app on my desktop, but every time there's an update, I have to contact IT for admin credentials to run the update. This process is really time-consuming and frustrating. I've tried installing it as a per-user application, but that doesn't seem to be supported by ReMarkable. What can I do to make updates happen automatically without having to reach out to IT every time? Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Check if the installer for ReMarkable gives you the option to install it just for your user profile instead of for all users. If you install it for just the logged-in user, updates might run without needing elevated permissions afterwards. Make sure to select the right option during initial installation.
One way around this is to use an admin-by-request system. It can allow you to whitelist certain applications so you can run them with admin rights while still keeping your user account without full admin privileges. This means you could potentially push updates without interrupting your workflow. If your organization uses a system like Intune or an RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management), they might be able to push the updates seamlessly too, as long as the app supports it.
Have you considered using something like CyberArk? There are other solutions that can help with managing admin access for specific applications. There are systems that let users run certain programs as an administrator without making them full admins. They can often submit a request for approval or receive a temporary access code to get it done without bothering IT each time.
Yeah, some can be quite user-friendly, but it varies by organization.

That sounds interesting! Do you know if those solutions are hard to set up?
