Why isn’t my 4K KVM passing a 4K signal?

I recently purchased a 4K 60Hz HDMI KVM from Ugreen, and I'm trying to use it with my Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 monitor. However, the output I'm getting is only 1080p, which looks weird and overly saturated. Shouldn't the KVM be able to pass a 4K signal, even if limited to 60Hz, or is there something I'm missing here?

Make sure that both the data/power line and the HDMI cable are connected properly. That's crucial for the setup to work right. If you're missing any connections, it could affect the signal output.

Yeah, the only thing I didn't connect was the USB-C power port, but that was just for extra power for peripherals. I thought it shouldn't matter.

Check the product page thoroughly. It often has specific information on what resolutions it supports. Not all HDMI 2.0 devices handle signals the same way; there might be peculiarities with this model regarding EDID emulation, which could limit the output options.

I couldn't find any extra details on it. I thought all HDMI 2.0 was the same! A friend mentioned something about EDID emulation too, but I'm not really familiar with that.
