I recently built a gaming PC back in 2012, but I haven't kept up with tech since then. Now, I'm in Japan and I've put together a new PC build on Amazon that totals around $2,300. I'm not too worried about the prices since they're local, but I really want to make sure I'm not making any huge mistakes. Here's what I need to know:
1. Are all these components compatible?
2. Will everything fit in the case?
3. Are there any components that are poor value or that I should consider swapping for something better?
My primary uses will be gaming, running local AI models, and general software engineering. Thanks!
Here's the parts list:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
- **CPU Cooler**: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM
- **Motherboard**: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM5
- **Memory**: G.Skill Flare X5 64 GB DDR5-6000
- **Storage**: KIOXIA EXCERIA PLUS G3 2 TB NVME SSD
- **Video Card**: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING GeForce RTX 3090
- **Case**: Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case
- **Power Supply**: MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850 W 80+ Gold Certified

Your build looks solid, but I think the RTX 3090 might not be the best choice since it's a couple generations old. If a 5080 is available for a better price, you might want to consider that. It’s the second top-of-the-line in the latest generation and could offer better performance.

Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t know that. I found the 5080 on a weird JP Amazon site, but I assume they’re standardized, right? It's priced lower than the 3090 too, so I'm curious why.
