I recently updated my computer and restarted it. The update included Windows updates and also updated Avast. After this, I started encountering an error on several websites that says, "your request has been blocked by network security. please sign in with your reddit account," even though I am signed in. Additionally, I receive a JSON error stating, "You do not have access to the requested resource." I also get a message from YouTube asking me to "Sign in to prove you are not a bot." The strange thing is that these errors go away when I disable my Avast VPN. I've already tried repairing both Avast and the Avast VPN. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

It sounds like your VPN might be using an IP address that has been blacklisted due to some bad activity. When you updated, it could have changed the server location or IP your VPN uses. You could try switching to a different server within your VPN settings and see if that helps.
There could be several reasons for this error. It may be related to how your antivirus is interacting with JSON requests or it could be because of a specific setting in your network profile. You might want to consider changing where JSON downloads are saved too.
It seems likely that the IPs from your VPN have been flagged as bot addresses. If you really need to keep your VPN on, try connecting to different server locations. Sometimes an update can change your default server, which might be causing the problems.
You might want to consider ditching Avast VPN altogether, as there are better options out there like Mullvad that are less prone to issues like this.
