Why Does My PC Shut Off Randomly While Gaming?

I'm having an issue with my old PC shutting down unexpectedly when I'm playing games like Apex Legends. It started happening after about a week of use, and I never had any problems before. When it hangs, I hear a weird robotic sound similar to what's usual before a BSOD, but I don't actually see a blue screen. I can still move my mouse and switch between the programs I have open, but none of them work. Plus, my internet connection drops.

I've already swapped out a few parts, including the motherboard and power supply, but the issue continues. Here are my specs:
- Ryzen 5 2600x
- RX5500XT
- 16GB HyperX RAM DDR4
- Asus B450F Gaming
- Seasonic 620W PSU
- 3TB HDD
- 256GB SSD

Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Issues like this can often be from unstable RAM. A faulty CPU is a possibility too, but it's less common. Given your setup, older RAM might be the culprit.

Yeah, I'm starting to think it could be the RAM. It's old, and I'm trying to rule everything out before I buy new parts.

Have you tried unplugging and replugging the LMFB cord? That might help.

I did that already and made sure it's plugged in properly, but the problem is still there.

What power supply are you using? You left that out, and it's a crucial part of your build. It could be part of the problem.

Oops, forgot to mention! I'm using a Seasonic 620W Bronze right now, but I did have a Thermaltake 600W that I replaced it with.

You might want to set the RAM voltage a bit higher, like +0.25V. Sometimes RAM has issues under load and this can help stabilize it.

I'll give that a shot and see if it resolves the issue.
