What’s the Best Graphics Card Upgrade from an RTX 2070 SUPER OC for 1080p Gaming?

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from my current RTX 2070 SUPER OC. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 7700 and 32 GB of RAM, and I run a 1080p display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. I'm focused on getting good value rather than going for high-end options. Although I'll be gaming at 1080p and don't plan to move to 1440p or 4K, I'd like to be able to use ray tracing features at least on medium settings. I'm considering AMD GPUs because I'm thinking about switching to Linux when Windows 10 is no longer supported for gaming.

I've found a few potential options:
1. RX 9060 XT 16 GB - Seems affordable and fairly powerful, but I'm wondering if it's a genuine upgrade over the RTX 2070 SUPER, especially regarding ray tracing.
2. RTX 5060 TI 16 GB - Priced reasonably but limited support for Linux, plus I've heard concerns about power connector issues.
3. RX 9070 / RX 9070 XT 16 GB - These are pricier but offer great performance for 1080p, especially with ray tracing. The XT doesn't seem necessary for my setup, yet they have similar pricing in my region, which is confusing.

I'm leaning toward the RX 9070, but I'm unsure if I can find it at a reasonable price. I'd also welcome any insights on the RX 9060 XT's performance and how it compares to my current card, especially for ray tracing.

The RX 9070 is a solid choice for your setup, especially since it pairs well with your Ryzen 7 7700. Sure, it’s a bit overkill for 1080p, but it does offer great value, especially for ray tracing. The RX 9060 XT is also an upgrade over the 2070 SUPER and performs well at ray tracing too. You might find it more affordable, so it's worth considering if you don't want to overspend. Just keep in mind that used options like the RTX 3080 TI or 4070 might also provide solid performance at a good price, but they can be power-hungry. If you're okay with that, it's definitely an option to explore!

I heard that in games with heavy ray tracing like Cyberpunk, the RX 9070 performs noticeably better, so if that’s something you care about, you might want to go for that instead of the 9060 XT.
