I've got an ASUS ROG Strix b450-F motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X processor, with 32GB of RAM currently installed—two 16GB sticks (Corsair 3200MHz). I had previously used two 8GB sticks, and I'm considering adding them into the remaining slots. This would set me up with a total of 48GB. My question is whether it's a good idea to mix these sticks, or will it lead to instability or performance issues? I read that it's important for the RAM to be from the same manufacturer (which they are) and have the same speed and timings (also checked and they match). I'd love to hear if anyone has tried mixing RAM like this or if it's better to stick with just the 32GB.

You'll want to be cautious when mixing RAM. Even if they're both Corsair and have similar specs, there's always a chance they might not fully play nice together. Different production dates can mean subtle differences that could cause issues. If you really need the extra capacity, give it a shot, but prepare for potential instability.
Totally agree! It's worth a test, but keep in mind it might not run at the fastest speeds available with just the two types mixed.
