I'm new to DNS migrations and would appreciate some guidance. Currently, our domain is hosted with GoDaddy, but the nameservers are pointing to a different provider. I've recently obtained a TXT file that contains all our DNS records. Based on what I've learned, my plan is to transfer the nameservers to GoDaddy's nsXX.domaincontrol.com, then use nsYY.domaincontrol.com and manually add all the DNS records one by one. After that, I understand I'll need to wait for propagation. Am I on the right track? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Actually, you've got it a bit mixed up. First, you'll want to create the DNS zones at GoDaddy, and then import the records from your TXT file instead of adding them one at a time. It's crucial to check that the records match up correctly with what you currently have. After that, you can change the nameservers, but make sure to test everything after the switch because propagation can take a while. Take your time with this!
Moving your DNS management to another provider like Cloudflare or AWS Route 53 might be worth considering. It can add redundancy and improve performance. If you stick with GoDaddy, be aware that they do have a zone file import option; it might make your life easier. Also, boosting the TTL on your current settings a day or two before the migration can help with the transition. Just a precaution!

How does changing providers give you more redundancy?
