Hey everyone! I've just ordered a new PC, and while I wait for it to arrive, I'm exploring which Linux distribution to use. I'm looking to switch to Linux because I'm fed up with all the AI stuff and issues I have with Windows. I'll primarily use this system for gaming, Discord, and web browsing, but I also want to indulge my creative side. My goal is to run software like DaVinci Resolve, Audacity, LMMS, Blender, Affinity Photo, Godot, and similar programs. I've heard some buzz about Bazzite, Nobara, and CachyOS, but I'm not sure which one would fit my needs better. Here's my PC spec for reference: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/hMtH6Q

As someone who jumped into Linux not too long ago, I'd suggest Linux Mint if you're new. It’s super user-friendly and straightforward compared to others. ZorinOS and Ubuntu are good too, but Mint seems to be the best starting point.

Experimenting is key when it comes to finding your ideal distro! I think it's a great idea to hop around and check out various options. Mint is what I'm using right now, and it's not only beginner-friendly but also lightweight, which is a plus for older computers. Just steer clear of something like Arch or Gentoo if you're looking for an easier start, and definitely avoid Deepin due to potential privacy concerns.

I usually stick with plain old Debian and use Distrobox for compatibility with different systems. But when it comes to gaming, I'd recommend CachyOS or Bazzite – both are excellent for that. Just a heads up, you might run into some challenges with DaVinci Resolve, especially on AMD. If stability is crucial for you, Fedora is solid, but for a long-term reliable use, Debian is your best bet.
