I'm currently running an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with 32GB of 3600MHz RAM and a Radeon 5700 XT. I'm looking to improve my gaming experience at 1440p because the 5700 XT isn't performing as well as I'd hoped. I don't follow the PC market closely anymore, so I'm seeking advice on whether I should just upgrade my GPU or go for a new build entirely. What would be the best move?

You might want to consider a 5700X3D or 5800X3D along with a high-end GPU, which could keep you from needing to jump to the AM5 platform just yet. It could be a good compromise.
Start by getting a new GPU and check if the 3900X bottlenecks in your games. What’s your budget looking like? That’ll help narrow down your options.
An upgrade to something like a 9070XT or 5070 Ti would work well for you. Just keep in mind, if you go for anything stronger, your CPU might hold back the full potential. So, consider if you want to upgrade just the GPU or look into a new system altogether.
Definitely upgrade your GPU first! Your RAM is great, and the 3900X is still a decent CPU for now. With GPU prices set to rise soon, I recommend picking up a 16GB card as soon as you can. It’ll make a noticeable difference for your 1440p gaming.
It largely depends on your spending limit. I'd recommend the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB or the RX 9060 XT 16GB. Both should fit within your budget and offer solid performance. What’s your budget looking like?

I'm aiming for around $300, so either of those would work! Is one better than the other to consider?
