I recently received a fraud alert on my work card after someone tried to make a purchase using my Apple Pay. I'm really confused about how this happened and if it means my Apple account is compromised. I've already blocked my card, but I'm still trying to understand the whole situation.

Make sure to check the device list linked on Apple's support page. If there’s a device you don’t recognize, it may have added your card to someone else's Apple Pay. You should change your password, sign out other devices, and verify your trusted devices and phone numbers.
It's important to remember that Apple Pay itself isn't a card but a digital payment method. If someone attempted to use it, it could be a banking or card fraud issue rather than a breach of your Apple account.
Removing and re-adding your card in the Apple Wallet assigns a new unique number, which prevents card skimming. So it sounds like a transaction made through your Apple Pay was flagged, but that doesn’t necessarily mean your account was hacked. Some banks send notifications for all transactions, not just those made via Apple Pay.
