How Long Will It Take Me to Create My Own ESL Website?

I'm an online ESL teacher looking to start my own business. I want to create a personalized website to fit my teaching style and niche. I've previously dabbled with W3Schools and found it easy to understand, so I'm thinking of going that route again. I work from home and have plenty of free time, but I'm curious—if I fully commit to learning how to build a functioning website, how realistic is my timeline? I plan to keep it simple at first and I know I could hire someone, but I prefer to do this myself. If there are better resources than W3Schools, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for your help!

From my personal experience, using something like WordPress (the .org version for more control) is a solid option. It took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of it, and having a nice theme makes a big difference. If you know a bit of CSS or HTML, you can tweak it to your liking. Unless your goal is to learn HTML/CSS/JS directly, the learning curve to set up something basic isn't too steep. Just dive in!

I see what you mean! I checked W3Schools and realized I'll need to grasp HTML/CSS/JS first. I found it manageable before, so I'll focus on those basics before getting into more advanced stuff. But thanks for the WordPress tip—definitely bookmarking that for when I finish my JS course!
