Should I Use a 12v-2×6 Cable or a Splitter for My RTX 5080?

Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a dilemma here. I recently got an RTX 5080 which came with a 3-way splitter, but my PSU is an RM1000X that has a 12v-2x6 slot and cable. Should I go ahead and use the cable that came with the PSU instead of the splitter? I've read conflicting things online, with some saying that splitters are for older PSUs that lack the 12v-2x6 option. What do you all think? Thanks!

You should definitely use the cable that came with your PSU! It's designed for your setup, and splitters are generally meant for older PSUs that don’t have the 12v-2x6 option. Stick with what's designed for your gear!

Totally agree! Only use splitters if you absolutely have to. The proper cable will give you better stability.

Yep, go with the PSU cable! I've used the shift version and it works perfectly. Also, Corsair just released a 90-degree version of the cable that might save you some space. Just a heads up, those have had issues in the past, but mine's been fine and stays cool too!

That sounds promising! I’ll keep that in mind for future upgrades. Thanks for the info!
