I recently upgraded from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a 5800XT on my B450 Pro4 motherboard. I did a BIOS update to version 10.43, but I updated it after I installed the new CPU, not before like I thought I should have. The old CPU was failing, and my friend confirmed it was just the CPU. Now my PC only works with one RAM stick in the second slot; if I use other slots, it keeps restarting. I've reset the CMOS, checked for bent pins, and reseated the CPU, but nothing changed. Am I in trouble here?

It shouldn't matter when you update the BIOS as long as you managed to do it successfully. Updating it after installing the new CPU is generally acceptable. The issue you're facing with the RAM might be unrelated to the BIOS update itself. It could be a memory slot issue or even a problem with the motherboard. Since you've already reset the CMOS and checked for bent pins, consider testing each RAM stick in different slots to pinpoint the issue.
Your situation can sometimes happen, so don't panic just yet! It's normal for older motherboards to have quirks with new CPUs. Since you're only able to use one RAM stick in one slot without issues, try reseating the RAM or testing different sticks in the same slot. If it's still acting up, it might be worth looking into BIOS settings or even considering a different beta version, as they can sometimes have bugs.
