Receiving Unknown File Shares on OneDrive – Is It a Phishing Attempt?

I recently got notifications that files were being shared with my OneDrive account from people I don't know. I checked my OneDrive, and under the 'Shared with me' section, I found three files: 'GET COIN 0' from Laurita Haddad, 'export 7' from Hyo Chopton, and 'GET BONUS 510' from Providencia Degro. Each file seems suspicious, and when I clicked on one, it opened a blank PDF saying 'Open Site,' which made me uncomfortable. I'm concerned this might be a phishing attempt. How do I remove these files and prevent others from being shared with me?

I just experienced the same thing today! I hardly ever use OneDrive, and this is the first time I’ve seen anything like this. It's weird and a bit concerning.

Same here! I don’t even know how they managed to share files to my account without permission. It’s quite alarming.

Yeah, it sounds like a phishing attempt. To prevent this from happening again, go to your OneDrive settings and look for the sharing options. You can change them so only the people you specify can share files with you. This way, you’ll block any random files from strangers.

I’m going to try that too! I just started getting similar notifications today. It’s crazy how people can share files without our consent.
