My 9800X3D just failed after a year of use, and I'm wondering if I should replace it with a new one on the same motherboard. I keep getting error codes C5, 03, or EC and it won't post. I've tried all the RAM slots with all four sticks. I have the troublesome ASRock Taichi board, and honestly, it's a hassle to replace both components. Are there any decent alternatives for a motherboard of this generation?

I switched to an MSI board recently. It was a hassle at times, but honestly, it's not worth the downtime trying to fix the old setup. Plus, MSI has some solid specs overall!
Have you tried resetting the CMOS? Those error codes you're seeing usually point to issues with booting or memory. How are you so sure your 9800X3D is actually dead? ASRock really seems to be struggling this generation. I have had good luck with Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI boards instead.
ASRock boards can be a real headache for AM5 CPUs, they're notorious for causing failures. You might want to look into getting an MSI or Gigabyte B850 motherboard instead. It could save you a lot of trouble in the long run!
