Why isn’t my mobile data working while roaming in Germany?

I'm currently in Germany and I have a mobile data plan that allows for 35GB of roaming data per month within the EU. My phone is a Nothing Phone 2, updated to Nothing OS 4 (Android 16). While everyone else's data is functioning normally, mine won't connect to 4G at all. Calls are fine, but I can't access the internet. Here are the troubleshooting steps I've already tried: toggling airplane mode, switching mobile data on and off, adjusting roaming settings, manually selecting a network, resetting my mobile data settings, and checking for any network blocks through my carrier. I even temporarily disabled and re-enabled my data plan, but nothing has worked. The phone shows good signal strength with roaming active, but no 4G connection. I'm really confused about what to do next!

It sounds like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting already! One thing you might want to check is if your carrier has any specific settings or APN configurations that need to be adjusted for roaming. Sometimes, even with a plan that allows roaming, the settings can be a bit finicky. Also, have you tried reaching out directly to your carrier’s customer service while you're in Germany? They may have additional insights or be able to push a reset on their end for your service.

Check if there's any specific requirement for roaming in Germany that your carrier might have. Sometimes, enabling roaming on the phone isn't enough, and there can be specific settings related to your plan. Additionally, if signal bars show 'R', it means you're roaming but it might still be tied to specific agreements with networks in Germany. Try restarting your phone, and if possible, contact your carrier to make sure everything is set up correctly on their side. You could also see if there's a carrier partner in Germany you might be able to connect to—some settings allow that to be adjusted manually.
