Hey everyone, I recently experienced a voltage issue at home which caused my PC to shut down while I had Proton VPN running. Now that I've powered it back on, I'm unable to connect to the internet, even though other devices in my house are working just fine. I have a few details that might help in diagnosing the problem:
- My IP address is showing up as 169.256.xx.xx.
- DNS servers aren't responding.
- I've already updated the drivers.
- I'm not getting internet access from any device.
- Changing the DNS settings didn't help.
- There's no kill switch option on Proton VPN.
- In the Wi-Fi settings, I can't find any IPv6 DNS server or default gateway.
If anyone has suggestions for fixing this, I'd really appreciate it!

Are you using Wi-Fi or Ethernet to connect? This could help narrow down the issue a bit more. Sometimes simply reconnecting the Wi-Fi can do wonders, or you might need to reset your modem/router if that’s an option.
It sounds like a classic case of a reset required after a power issue. Try unplugging your router for a minute and then plugging it back in. This can help clear minor hiccups in the connection. Also, double-check your network settings to make sure they’re set to obtain an IP address automatically.
