Hey everyone, I've got a gaming PC that has been running fine for quite some time, but lately, it's been incredibly slow. I have a 952 GB storage drive, but I'm down to just 44 GB left and it's dropping, even though I'm not downloading anything. I can't run system checks or virus scans because the computer is too slow to handle it. It's only about a year old, so I'm really confused about what might be wrong. I've read that I should remove unwanted files, but at this point, the PC is so sluggish I can barely do that. By the way, my internet connection is working fine. Just as I'm writing this, my available storage has dropped to 42 GB. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you're feeling overwhelmed by all this, no worries! You're not alone. I'm actually 14 too and bought a prebuilt PC. If you just want to clean up space, you can also try using built-in tools like Disk Cleanup. It might take a bit to load, but it can help get rid of temporary files.
A quick diagnostic you can run is to use the command prompt. Hit Win + R, type:
cmd
Then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run it as admin. In the command window, type:
wmic diskdrive get status
Let us know what it shows. It'll help us understand if your hard drive is having issues.
It sounds like you might have some underlying issues, possibly with malware. If you suspect malware is present and can manage it, try to boot into safe mode and see if you can run any scans from there. If that doesn't work, consider connecting an external SSD with the same OS to check if your internal drive is failing. Just change the boot order in the BIOS settings to prioritize the external drive. If it runs better from there, you might need to replace your current hard drive.
