I recently moved into an apartment with my sister and want to use my ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 router for gaming. The problem is that the ONT box is located in my sister's office, about 50 feet away from my gaming setup. I prefer a wired connection for stability and low ping, but since I can't move the ONT box, I'm looking for the best way to connect my laptop to my router via Ethernet. I'm considering a really long Ethernet cable, but I also heard about mesh systems like Eero. What do you suggest for connecting my laptop to the router while maximizing my internet speed?

A long cable is definitely the way to go. You could also look into powerline adapters, but they might not be as solid as just running Ethernet.
I use a 50-foot Ethernet cable to connect my ONT to another device, and it works like a charm! Just make sure to get a good quality cable to support high speeds.
What type of cable are you using? CAT5e or CAT6? Is that good for gaming?
Honestly, running a long Ethernet cable is your best bet. They can go up to 100 meters, so you should be fine for your distance. Plus, it will give you the fastest and most stable connection you can get for gaming.
Exactly! I thought about other options too, but a long cable is really the most straightforward and effective solution.

I've heard about powerline adapters too, but I've been warned they can be spotty. For your setup, I'd recommend a CAT6 cable; it's perfect for your speed needs!
