Help! My CPU Keeps Overheating After Cleaning—What Should I Do?

I recently cleaned my PC thoroughly with an electric duster, but now I'm facing some issues. After turning it on, it powers off after about five minutes, displaying a 'CPU over temperature error.' I logged the temperatures and saw it was idling at around 93-94 degrees Celsius! I might have used the duster too close to the hardware. I've tried cleaning it again from a distance, but that hasn't helped. I know replacing the thermal paste is an option, but I've never built my own PC before, so I'm looking for some easier solutions first. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

When cleaning your PC, it's a good idea to disconnect all the fans and power cables first. This prevents any accidental issues, like the fan spinning too fast and causing damage. Also, replacing the thermal paste isn't just an option; it's something that should be done regularly. If you're unsure how to do that, consider asking for help at an IT store or watching some tutorial videos to get you started!

I feel your pain! Sometimes, even slight mistakes can lead to overheating issues. Have you checked to make sure all connections are secure? Also, consider reviewing any guides on proper thermal paste application if you decide to go that route. It's easier than it sounds and can really help with cooling.

First off, check if your CPU fan is still working when you power on your PC. Sometimes when blowing air, you might accidentally mess up the fan bearings, which could lead to overheating. Make sure everything's spinning as it should. If the fans are fine, there might be more to check!

I checked, and all the fans are still spinning.
