I'm curious if shadow copies can be utilized to recover even older shadow copies. Is it possible to keep doing this repeatedly, creating a sort of time machine effect with the snapshots?

LMAO......shadow copies are not magic! They have limitations on how you can access and utilize the snapshots.
Basically, you can't keep going back through shadow copies like you want. They don't work like a time machine.
Nope, that's not how shadow copies work. They aren't designed to allow recovery of older shadow copies in that manner.
