I found some old broken consoles and I'm wondering if I can format their hard drives to use them in my PC. Is this possible, and are there any performance concerns I should be aware of?

Yeah, you can use them, but honestly, they aren't the best choice for a hard drive. If you're just looking for general storage, they might suffice, but make sure to run a SMART test first to assess their health. I recommend using CrystalDiskInfo for that. Keep in mind that the PS4 frequently writes to the HDD, so the condition could be questionable. Avoid storing anything super important unless you have backups for it.

Got it! I just want to make sure they're usable as extra space, not for anything critical. Thanks for the SMART tip!
