Hey everyone! My friend is putting together his first PC and ran into a problem. After booting the PC into BIOS without any issues, he tried to install Windows 10 using a USB drive. Unfortunately, the PC keeps booting straight into BIOS instead of starting the Windows installation. We've set the USB drive as the top boot priority and even switched the BIOS settings from UEFI to Legacy/CSM. I have a few concerns: 1) The boot options display 'UEFI/Legacy'; should it just say 'Legacy/CSM'? 2) Could the Windows 10 installation on his USB drive be flawed? 3) Should he select a different boot option other than 'USB Key'? Is there anything else we can do to troubleshoot this? Here are his specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500, MOBO: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI, RAM: TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 16 GB, STORAGE: Crucial P310 1 TB NVME SSD, GPU: Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 3050.

It’s likely that the USB drive wasn’t prepared properly. When using the Media Creation Tool, the USB stick typically renames itself to ESD-USB. If it’s named differently, that could indicate an issue. Have him check that out!

Got it! He’s planning to reformat the USB and download Windows again to see if that resolves the boot issue.
