I recently built my own PC, and now I'm facing issues trying to activate Windows. I purchased a key for Windows 11 Pro, but my system has Windows 11 Home installed, and I didn't get to select the version during installation. I'm curious if this is causing the problem, and if I need to completely restart my computer to install the Pro version. I've looked up tutorials online, but they're mostly about Windows 11 Home. The Media Creation Tool doesn't allow me to switch to Pro either. Am I overlooking something? I'm still learning through hands-on experience, so any guidance here would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to first check that the license key you purchased is valid. A quick way to do this is by opening Command Prompt as an Administrator and typing `slmgr /dli `. This checks the activation status without actually activating anything. If the key is valid but still not working, it could simply be a mismatch between the editions.
I appreciate this! I’ll give it a shot.
If you're really struggling, have you thought about trying Linux? It's free and often runs smoother than Windows. Plus, with your new server project, it could be a solid fit. Just something to consider while you're sorting out the Windows issue.
I’m actually considering switching to Linux! It sounds appealing.
You should try it! It might help simplify things for you.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check the key first.
