For 1080p gaming, the RX 9060 XT 16GB should be enough and would keep the initial cost down. For 1440p or more demanding settings in open-world games, the RX 9070 GRE is the better balance. As for the dropped RX 7600, it’s probably only worth repairing if you can get a low-cost diagnostic; otherwise, selling it as a parts or repair item is likely more practical.
I’d seriously consider the RX 9070 instead of the 9070 GRE if the price difference is manageable. It costs roughly 29% more but can deliver around 20% higher performance and includes more VRAM, which may help with newer games over the next few years. The RX 9060 XT 16GB isn’t especially attractive for its current price.
If you’re focused on saving money, check the used market too. A used RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 4070, or RX 7800 XT could offer strong performance for less than a new card, assuming you can verify its condition and get reasonable buyer protection.
