I'm currently using an iPhone SE 3 on iOS 18.5, and I'm wondering if I can upgrade to version 18.7.2, or if I'm only able to move to iOS 26. I'm aware that downgrading to iOS 17 isn't an option anymore since it's not being signed. However, I've seen a lot of complaints about iOS 26, so I'd like to know what my options are before I make a move.

If iOS 18.7.2 appears in your Software Update settings under General, you can definitely stick with iOS 18. Just remember, if you try to update through Finder or another Apple device, it might push you straight to the latest version, which is iOS 26.1.
Yeah, 18.7.2 should show up for you via OTA updates, so check Settings > General > Software Update. I recommend updating since 18.5 has some known storage bugs that are causing headaches for a lot of folks right now.

Thanks for the heads-up! I saw a listing for an iPhone that was claimed to be on 18.5, but I'm worried about it being updated to 26 before I even get it. Do you think I should avoid open-box phones?
