Hey everyone! A few months back, I scored a pretty sweet deal on a gaming PC and now I'm looking to upgrade some components. Here's what I currently have:
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 4.7GHz Processor
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X
- Kingston FURY 32 GB DDR5-5200 XMP RGB Heatsink RAM
- 1TB Solid State Drive
I'm considering upgrading the RAM since prices are finally coming down, and I want to replace my 1TB SSD. I've only got one slot in my case, so I'm thinking about swapping it for a 2TB SSD. But, since I might run into storage issues again, I might need to invest in a new case with multiple slots down the line.
The motherboard and case are proprietary from OMEN, and I'm unsure about how modular the setup is, so I'd appreciate any advice on that. The PC has liquid cooling as well, but I'm not sure if I need to worry about cooling solutions when switching to a new case. I've built a PC before, but it's been almost a decade since then, so I'm a little rusty. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend getting a new case along with a new motherboard. This way, you won't be restricted by the HP Omen's proprietary parts, plus it’ll let you install extra M.2 NVMe drives for more storage. I think keeping your RAM for now is wise because of the crazy prices. Just my two cents!

Thanks! I think I’ll hold off on the RAM then for the time being.
