Seeking Feedback on My First PC Build

I'm working on my very first PC build and I've decided to go with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D paired with an RTX 5080. While I don't have a strict budget and I know this setup might be a bit overkill, I'm all for going all-in as long as it's not the latest 5090. My goal is to play Fortnite at 1080p with over 240 FPS, and also handle some demanding titles like Cyberpunk and GTA 6 (fingers crossed for this decade!). Besides gaming, I'll be using this PC for tasks like video editing and engineering work with CAD software.

I'm looking for some advice on the full build before I start purchasing components. Here are some specifics:

- **CPU Cooler**: The cooler I'm considering is bundled with the RTX 5080, making the total around $2K AUD. Should I stick with this cooler or switch it for something better?
- **GPU Choice**: Is it worth spending more for the ROG Astral RTX 5080 (about $2.5K), or should I go with the Gigabyte version, which comes with a free cooler? I've seen good reviews for the Astral, so I'm unsure if the higher price is justified.
- **RAM**: Given the fluctuating prices, is it better to go for the higher CL RAM (36-40+) if it's cheaper, or should I prioritize lower latency instead?
- **Motherboard**: What motherboard would match this build well?
- **Case Recommendations**: I'm looking for a black, well-ventilated case that includes fans. Are there any specific recommendations?
- **Extra Case Fans**: Will I need to buy additional case fans on top of the ones I choose?

Here's the breakdown of my intended build:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
- **CPU Cooler**: Thermalright Frozen Infinity 360 ARGB 68.9 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
- **Motherboard**: Asus TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
- **RAM**: Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
- **Storage**: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
- **GPU**: Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB Video Card
- **Power Supply**: Super Flower LEADEX VII Platinum PRO 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

I'd recommend going with the cheaper version of the RTX 5080 since performance-wise they should be very similar. Many brands have slight differences in manufacturing, but for gaming, you’ll likely get the same performance as the pricier options.

Sounds good! Just what I needed to hear.

But keep in mind that different brands might have varying quality in components, so do some research on specific models before deciding!

When it comes to RAM, if you can nab some slightly higher CL RAM for a better price, go for it! Just ensure that you’re not sacrificing too much on the latency, as it can impact performance. But, honestly, 36-40 CL is pretty decent if the price is right!
