I've had this inexpensive USB WiFi adapter for my PC for a few years now, and it's been working great. But lately, for the past week or so, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every minute or so, making the sound that indicates a USB has been unplugged. I'm really confused about what's going on. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Have you tried cleaning both the adapter's USB connector and the USB port on your computer? Dust and grime can cause connection problems. Also, considering the age of your adapter, a new one usually costs around $20, so keep that option in mind too.
From my experience, these disconnections are often related to driver or firmware issues. Make sure to check for updates for your system chipset and USB controller too. Also, if you're using Windows 11, ensure that your adapter is compatible since not everything that worked on Windows 10 will transfer over smoothly.
It had been working with Windows 11 for a bit, so I hope that’s not the problem. I’ll update the drivers and see if that helps.
First off, check if there are any software updates available for your USB adapter. Sometimes, an update could fix connection issues.
Not that I know of, but I keep my PC updated pretty regularly.

I definitely want to make this one last a bit longer, but I'll clean it and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!
