I'm new to building PCs and want a powerful system that should remain capable for at least four or five years without major upgrades. After researching the parts, I've selected a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB, Gigabyte B850 AORUS Elite WIFI7 motherboard, 32GB DDR5-6400 CL32 Crucial Pro memory, a Crucial P510 1TB PCIe 5.0 SSD, Thermaltake Toughpower GT 1000W PSU, Corsair Nautilus 360 RS LCD cooler, and a Lian Li Vector V100 case with four included 120mm fans. The motherboard and power supply have already been purchased. I have about €1,800 remaining for the other parts. I'm mainly deciding between the RX 9070 XT for around €730 and an RTX 5070 for around €800. As far as I know, the RTX card's main advantages are DLSS and ray tracing. Is this a sensible parts list, and which graphics card would be the better choice?

Before buying the graphics card, compare independent gaming benchmarks for the specific resolutions and games you play. At €730 versus €800, the RX 9070 XT appears to offer better value and more raw performance, while the RTX 5070 is worth considering if DLSS, ray-traced games, or Nvidia-specific applications are especially important to you. The rest of the build looks broadly balanced, but make sure the case has good radiator clearance and airflow for the 360mm cooler.
The CPU and graphics card choices are solid. The RX 9070 XT is generally the stronger option at those prices, and it also performs very well with ray tracing. The RTX 5070 mainly makes sense if you specifically value Nvidia features such as DLSS and its software ecosystem. You could also consider less expensive memory if you find a good deal, since DDR5-6000 is usually enough for this platform. A 2TB SSD would be more comfortable for a modern game library, although 1TB is workable if you don’t need much storage. The 360mm liquid cooler is not essential either; a good dual-tower air cooler would handle the processor for considerably less money.
The slower memory option I found wasn’t actually cheaper than the kit I selected, so I’d rather keep the faster RAM. A 2TB SSD also costs around €285 here, and I’m not sure I’ll need that much space. The liquid cooler is only about €40 more than the air cooler, though. Do you have another case recommendation?
