I'm currently using kernel version 6.14 with Tuxedo OS, and I'm curious if I'm missing out on any significant optimizations, especially for gaming, by not being on a distribution that features the latest kernel. Any insights would be appreciated!

What kind of improvements are you looking for? Typically, performance gains from newer kernels are minimal—often less than 1%. If your OS works well with the kernel it ships with, you might already be set!
You might need the newer kernel to support the latest hardware, as it can take a while for drivers for new devices to be integrated. However, using a slightly older kernel often provides more stability and compatibility, which can be a better bet overall. Good luck!
Yeah, I totally agree! It's usually best to go for slightly older hardware that has been tested and proven rather than the newest stuff, which can bring a lot of headaches.

Thanks for the input! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, which is why I asked.
