Is there a way to use my Ubuntu laptop to control my Android tablet like Lenovo’s Cross Control?

I have a Lenovo laptop and a tablet. On Windows, the Lenovo Smart Connect app offers a feature called Cross Control, which allows me to use my PC's mouse and keyboard to control my Android device. This feature includes drag-and-drop file transfers and app streaming, making multitasking a breeze without any complicated setups. Now, I also have a Dell laptop running Ubuntu and a Samsung Android tablet. Is there a way to achieve similar functionality? Are there any software solutions available for cross-control between Ubuntu and Android?

Unfortunately, Cross Control isn't supported on Ubuntu, so you won't be able to use it in the same way as on Windows.

For a more integrated experience, there's GSConnect for your computer and KDE Connect for your phone. This setup offers features like clipboard sharing, file transfers, and notifications. However, you won't be able to extend your display like you can with Cross Control.

If you're using Kubuntu, I recommend trying KDE Connect. It provides a good set of features for connecting your devices, even if it doesn't perfectly match your use case.

You might want to check out GNOME, as it has support for Remote Desktop Protocol now, which could potentially work. For file sharing across different operating systems, Localsend could be a useful tool, although it doesn't provide the same seamless experience as drag-and-drop.
