I'm considering taking the Oracle Java SE 17 certification, but I'm a bit lost on what subscription plan I should go for. There are two options: the Oracle Technology Learning Subscription, which includes all the learning materials and three attempts for the certification exam, and the Oracle Technology Exam Subscription, which only allows a single exam attempt. I'm also looking for information on costs and whether there are free study materials available online. Here are my specific questions:
1. Are there any free online study materials for this exam?
2. What are the costs for both subscription options?
3. Which subscription would be more beneficial for me?
4. Any additional details about the subscription plans and their validity would be really helpful.
If I can find free study material and the Exam Subscription is significantly cheaper than the Learning Subscription, that could work well for me. I'm feeling pretty confused about it all!

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend going with either subscription unless your employer is covering the costs. The pricing can be pretty confusing, but one of those subscriptions is around $5,000 a year, which is pretty steep! You might want to look at online courses, like those on Udemy. They often have Java SE 17 courses for way cheaper—sometimes around $15 during sales!
Right? $5k for a cert subscription is crazy. Definitely better to go with a Udemy course!

But if I need a subscription to actually take the exam? I’ve got a Coursera subscription for study material from my university.
