I've had my PC build for a couple of months now, and it's been working fine until about two weeks ago when I started experiencing some issues. The problem is that my PC won't post unless I reinstate the RAM. Sometimes when I try to turn it on, it won't boot, and the DRAM debug light stays lit. Restarting the PC seems to work without issues, but I find myself having to reseat the RAM repeatedly. I've been careful not to turn off the PSU, and I even set my BIOS to my best performance settings (like EXPO and X3D turbo) while I seek help.
I've already tried resetting the BIOS settings, both enabling and disabling XMP/EXPO, and updating the BIOS. Here's what I'm working with:
- Motherboard: B650 Aorus Elite AX V2 (new)
- CPU: 7800x3d (new)
- RAM: 2 x 16GB G.Skill Trident 6000MHz CL30 DDR5 (new)
- GPU: Aorus RTX 3070 Ti Master 8GB (3 years old)
- PSU: Corsair RM850x Gold Modular 850W Power Supply V2 (3 years old)
Just to note, the RAM sticks are inserted in slots A_2 and B_2, and my PC has never successfully posted with them in slots A_1 and B_1. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

There are reports that the B650 Aorus Elite AX has been facing issues with the DRAM debug light. It might be worthwhile to look into the latest BIOS updates since they can often fix these issues. In fact, some users have mentioned that simply updating to a specific version really helped. Don't forget to check the voltage settings as well; sometimes they might be incorrectly set for your RAM specs, leading to these posting problems.
It sounds like you're facing a classic problem! First off, make sure that your power button is functioning properly, as a malfunctioning button can sometimes lead to issues like this. Double-check that all power cables are securely connected, especially the ones to the motherboard and the case power buttons.
Since you mentioned checking the RAM, try reseating them and perhaps even testing each stick individually in the correct slots if you haven’t done that yet. Sometimes BIOS updates can lead to issues, so it's crucial to ensure that your motherboard has the latest BIOS installed. Lastly, reducing the RAM speed to JEDEC might help isolate the problem. Let us know how it goes!
Great tip! I had a similar issue, and reseating the RAM while checking the connections worked wonders for me. Just take it slow, and don’t stress too much!
You might be facing a voltage issue. If your RAM specs indicate that they require a voltage higher than what your motherboard is providing, this might be causing the failure to post. Make sure that the SOC voltage settings are adequate for your RAM, and consider bumping them up if they are on the lower end of the spectrum. An imbalance here could definitely cause the trouble you are experiencing. Good luck!
I see you have some solid specs there! Have you tried testing the RAM sticks in different slots? I had a similar problem where the motherboard had specific slot preferences, and it took a while to figure it out. Also, if you're running high-performance RAM settings, it's worth trying to run them at their default speeds temporarily to see if stability improves. Overclocked settings can sometimes cause these kinds of issues if they aren't supported by the BIOS version you're using.

I've updated my BIOS and it did resolve some issues, definitely worth the try!
