Hi everyone! I have a Dell G16 7630 with a 1TB SSD and I'm looking to expand my storage. However, prices for internal SSDs are a bit out of my budget right now. I found an external SSD on Amazon - the Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 - and I'm curious if it would be suitable for playing games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Marvel Rivals. Would this be a good option?

That SSD looks pretty decent! I've been using some older models like the Samsung T5 and T7, which are a bit slower, but they still work well for most games. I think you should be fine with that one for gaming. Just keep in mind that while loading times might be a bit longer compared to internal SSDs, it should still perform well enough for your needs.

I'm a bit concerned though. The read and write speed of that SSD is around 1000 MB/s, which is significantly slower than the usual internal SSD speeds (around 5000 MB/s). Do you think this will cause any lag while gaming?
