I've been using my MSI laptop primarily for work, writing, and browsing, with only occasional gaming—specifically Red Dead Redemption 2. Generally, I keep my laptop on for about 3-4 days at a time, using sleep or hibernate mode when I'm not actively using it. While this is super convenient for picking up right where I left off, I'm starting to wonder if it's healthier for my laptop to shut it down more frequently. Could keeping it in sleep mode for several days potentially cause long-term issues? Or is it enough to just shut it down once in a while? I'm keen on ensuring that I'm not damaging my hardware or battery life by leaving it on for extended periods. By the way, my laptop is running Windows 11 and is about 1 year and 8 months old, and it's performing quite well with minimal lag.

I personally shut mine down every day. With a fast SSD, the boot time is quick, which really helps.
I haven't shut my laptop down in years! While powering down occasionally might extend the life of some parts, the difference isn't huge if you keep it running. Just make sure to restart occasionally; it keeps everything running smoothly!

True! Unless he's running it plugged in constantly, it's probably better to turn it off occasionally to avoid wearing out the battery.
