I'm considering an upgrade from my current Ryzen 3600 and I've stumbled upon a good deal for a Ryzen 5600X at €100. The Ryzen 5700X is €40 more expensive, and I can't find it second-hand. Since I mainly play games like Helldivers, Squad, and Tarkov, I'm wondering if the two extra cores of the 5700X are worth the extra cost or if I should stick with the 5600X?

If you're looking for the best gaming performance per euro spent, the Ryzen 5600X at €100 is the more cost-effective choice. While the 5700X does offer additional cores that improve overall performance, the boost in gaming performance specifically is pretty modest.
Actually, the 5600X might be a better option overall due to its stronger single-threaded performance and slightly higher boost clock of 4.7GHz compared to 4.6GHz for the 5700X. Most games don’t really take advantage of more than 6 cores, so I think the 5600X will often perform just as well or even better than the 5700X.

True, but some games can use more than 6 cores, like Battlefield 6!
