What Kind of Outlet Is This in My Room?

I'm trying to set up a wired connection to my PC, but I'm in a rental and can't drill or run a long cable since the router is located on the other side of the apartment, a floor down. I found this outlet in my room and initially thought it was for coax. I want to know what this outlet is for—is it an old phone line, or coax that's not being split properly? I've attached an image for reference: [Image here](https://ibb.co/DfcJpNL4).

Could also be a DSL outlet if it’s smaller than standard cable coax. Mine for AT&T Uverse used a similar input. If you're not sure, check if any other outlets are connected to the same line. That way, you can figure out what works best for your setup.

Yeah, definitely coax, buddy! It’s used for TV and internet. Surprised you didn’t know—lol! If you’re not getting a signal when you connect your router, it might be worth checking if there's a splitter somewhere in the house that’s causing the issue. Sometimes, changing the connection point can solve a lot.

Looks like coax for your internet or TV. Usually, it should have a male end at the back of the plate, which is odd since it appears to be set up with a coupler instead of just a female connector. Could be a simple fix if you're able to trace where it's routed to. If it’s split somewhere, that might be the reason you’re not getting a signal. A splitter is typically involved if you're tapping into multiple connections.
