I recently built a new PC just a few weeks back, and I was gaming with a friend on Hunt Showdown when something strange happened. My system suddenly seemed to restart without the usual 'restarting PC' screen. Instead, my monitor went black, switched to rest mode, and my peripherals like the keyboard and mouse lost power. The PC itself kept running—fans spinning and RGB lights still on.
Once it booted back up, I was greeted with the Windows setup screen, which made me think it might have restarted to install an update since I was outside my active hours for updates (7 AM to 9 PM). However, I checked the update history, and no updates had been installed.
I also looked at the event viewer and found a critical kernel power error indicating it didn't shut down properly, but the timestamp was off—it showed 8:44 PM, while the restart happened around 9:06 PM. Everything seems normal now, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this and knows what might have caused it. I haven't gamed on it since since I'm at work.

Yeah, I think it might be a driver problem as well. I faced similar issues when my drivers were outdated. Updating them helped a lot.
I had a similar issue with my new build a while back. It turned out to be a graphics driver problem. I had to completely remove the old drivers using DDU and then install new ones. The drivers I originally had (581.80) caused a ton of issues like system latency and random restarts. What drivers are you currently using?
That sounds frustrating! I was using the same driver (581.80) and faced a lot of crashes. When I updated to the latest drivers (591.59), things finally stabilized. Maybe give that a shot! How often did the crashes happen for you?
