Help! My PCIe Latch is Stuck and I Can’t Remove My GPU

I recently bought an SSD to set up a dual boot on my computer, and the m.2 slot is directly beneath my GPU. I planned to temporarily remove the GPU to install the SSD and then put it back in. However, what should have been a straightforward task has turned into a frustrating ordeal because the latch won't open. I've tried shaking it, pulling it, pushing it, and different combinations of those actions, but nothing works. I've even moved the cooler to make the latch more accessible, but still, no luck. I haven't used my PC since this happened, so I'm worried about whether I might have damaged the GPU in the process. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with a stuck PCIe latch? I'm considering taking it to a repair shop if I can't resolve it myself.

Sometimes the latch mechanisms differ depending on the motherboard brand. For instance, MSI and Gigabyte often have a button positioned above where the GPU plugs in, near the RAM slots. If you have an Asus board, there’s a guide for their unique Q-release mechanism. Good luck figuring it out!

It's an MSI B660M, and I can see the latch. If it works like other PCIe ones, it should unlock when pushed down or to the side.

I just watched the video you mentioned for the Q-release, but I had no luck either. Thanks for the tips, though!
