I recently updated my HP Envy laptop to Windows 11, and I'm trying to get it to run Hogwarts Legacy through Epic Games. It's my study laptop, so I haven't pushed it through heavy tasks before, but now it's giving me a ton of problems. Here are my laptop specs:
- 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz
- 16 GB RAM
- 64-bit OS
- 461 GB storage used, out of 952 GB
I keep getting a notification about my Intel graphics driver having known issues. It recommends upgrading from version 30.0.101.1191 to 31.0101.4255. I've tried everything—uninstalling and reinstalling the driver—but Windows insists this is the best version for me. Plus, I can't seem to find the recommended version anywhere.
I also installed the Intel Graphics Software, which initially made the laptop react faster (less lag), but then I encountered a compatibility issue. It says my current system configuration isn't supported, and the driver isn't showing up in Device Manager. My laptop is overheating, and I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out. Can anyone help me out? The driver from 2021 seems outdated, and I really need a fix!

Your hardware seems good enough for light gaming; however, remember to lower the game resolution to make it run smoother. You might have to tweak a few settings in Windows, though—it's been a while since I've played around with them myself.
You should try downloading the latest graphics drivers directly from Intel's website. Here's a link that might help: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/864990/intel-11th-14th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html. I had a similar issue, and this worked for me!
I gave it a shot, but it didn’t change much for me.

Just keep in mind, you're trying to game on a laptop that wasn't really designed for that. It's got a decent GPU for office work but not for gaming.
