I'm struggling with my C drive constantly running out of space despite doing multiple cleanups. Temporary files are only taking up about 400MB, which isn't the main issue. The bulk of what's consuming space seems to be in the Windows and AppData folders according to WinDirStat. I've already deleted some temporary app data, but I'm wondering if there's a safe way to clean up the Windows and AppData folders without risking important files, or do I need to consider upgrading my storage instead?

You might want to look into the WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownload folder. It houses Windows updates and can pile up a good amount of unwanted files. Also, I’ve found that sometimes reinstalling Windows can free up space, although I’m not entirely sure why that happens. It just worked for me once! But that might not be ideal for you right now, especially if you're having problems with your recovery environment.

I tried reinstalling Windows, but I'm having issues since it can't locate the recovery environment because of a disk partition problem. I've freed up space, but messing with partitions feels risky at the moment. I'll keep that in mind, though!
