I'm looking to upgrade my AM4 setup and currently have 16GB of G.Skill 3000MHZ RAM. I'm considering adding another 16GB stick of DDR4 RAM from Samsung that runs at 3200MHZ. Will these two kits work together? I assume the 3200MHZ RAM will just run at 3000MHZ, but what about the timings? Will everything be compatible? Thanks for the help!

Also, it matters what CPU and motherboard you have. Running four sticks might slow things down due to added latency, which could cause some instability if you try to push them at higher speeds. If capacity is your main concern, then go for it, but for better speed, consider a matching 2x16GB kit, especially with Ryzen 1000, 2000, or 3000 series processors. I had a similar problem with G.Skill RAM in a high-end build—it would crash occasionally when using all four slots.
It's likely that they will work together at stock speeds, but if you try to use XMP profiles, it might get a bit dicey. It really depends on whether the timings match because then you should be good to go! Just set everything down to 3000MHZ manually and enable XMP to keep things stable.
For sure! Just keep an eye on the CAS latency (CL), and you should be fine when you dial everything in.

I’ve got a B450 Tomahawk board and an R5 3600. Guess I need to think about my setup a bit more! Thanks for the insights!
