I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup because I've noticed a significant performance drop in recent games, and I want to make one upgrade now with another planned in 2-3 years. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, a Gainward RTX 3070 GPU, and a 600W power supply. I'm considering switching to the ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC to help with the VRAM limitations I'm experiencing while gaming at ultrawide 4K resolution. My target is to maintain stable frames at 40-50+ FPS.
I have a few questions:
1. Is my 600W PSU sufficient for both the Ryzen 3600 and the RTX 5070 Ti? Should I plan to upgrade it during my next major upgrade?
2. Will the Ryzen 5 3600 handle modern gaming well enough for the next few years? I've seen mixed opinions about whether it will bottleneck newer GPUs. I'm also considering a used Ryzen 7 3700X for around $70 – is that a good upgrade option?
3. Is 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM still adequate for today's gaming needs? I'd like to keep it if possible unless there's a compelling reason to change it.
Thank you for any advice!

Your PSU will handle the RTX 5070 Ti and Ryzen 3600 just fine. However, keep in mind that the Ryzen 3600 could bottleneck the GPU in some demanding titles, especially if you're using upscaling features. If you can find a cheap Ryzen 5 5700X, that could give you a nice performance bump. But overall, 32GB of RAM is still solid for today's gaming.
You'll be fine for 4K gaming, though you might experience some stuttering when dealing with heavy loads. Your 600W PSU should be enough for that setup. As for the RAM, 32 GB of DDR4-3200 is still good for most modern games, so you're all set there!
The RTX 5070 Ti should meet your needs for smooth 4K gaming. Your PSU seems sufficient, but consider upgrading it to 750W for future-proofing. In terms of your CPU, the Ryzen 3600 is decent, but it might limit your performance in some games. Keep an eye on prices for the Ryzen 7 3700X; it could be a worthwhile upgrade if you can swing it!
If you're after 40-50 FPS at 4K with medium-high settings, your goal is realistic. The Ryzen 3600 may hold you back in certain scenarios, particularly if you plan to rely on upscaling features like DLSS. Regarding RAM, your current configuration works, so no immediate need to upgrade there.
In theory, that PSU is adequate, but I would recommend aiming for an 850W for more breathing room. Your CPU and GPU combo isn't ridiculous, but you may need that Ryzen 7 for higher performance, especially if you want a smooth experience in future titles.
