How Can I Connect My Headset to My PC When the Cable is Too Short?

Asked By TechieNinja92 On

I built a PC this summer, and it's shoved into the corner of my desk. The issue is that my headset's wire is pretty short, making it hard to move away from my desk when I want to use it. I'm curious how others manage to connect their peripherals like wired keyboards and mice when their PCs are positioned awkwardly, like underneath their desks. Is there a solution for this situation? Thank you!

For any audio needs, consider investing in a DAC if you have quality headphones. And yeah, Bluetooth options are good too; I’ve gotten some decent ones that last a long time on battery.

Have you considered using an extension cable? They're really affordable and should give you the extra length you need to move around comfortably.

If your headset's cable is detachable, you might be able to just get a longer cable instead! Most newer models allow you to swap them out. Otherwise, I’ve found wireless options to be great too—less clutter!

Have you thought about a USB dock? Many of them come with headphone jacks and extra USB ports. Also, Bluetooth headsets are super convenient and eliminate wire issues.
